UPDATE: Magnitude 4.7 earthquake felt throughout Kenai Peninsula

An earthquake with an initial magnitude of 4.9 occurred Sunday afternoon about 44 miles west of Ninilchik, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center. The quake was recorded just before 12:40 p.m. at a depth of about 74 miles, the earthquake center said.
