The space shuttle Discovery makes its final flight.

SPACE COAST, Fla. (April 17, 2012) The space shuttle Discovery attached to its 747 transport takes off from Kennedy Space Center as it makes it final flight. It will land in Washington D.C. to become an exhibit at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Naval Aviators commanded 27 of the 39 Discovery missions. Discovery, along with the rest of the shuttle fleet, has been retired from active service after 32 years of operations. (U.S. Navy photo by Chief Petty Officer James B.
