Alcatraz Island, Treasure Island (NASA, International Space Station Science, 01/28/10)

Alcatraz Island and Treasure Island can be seen near the center of this image of the San Francisco Bay, photographed with an 800mm lens some 215 to 220 miles above Earth. The image was taken by an Expedition 22 crew member aboard the International Space Station (ISS). San Francisco bay area structures including office buildings can be at the city’s edge (left).

Another arcade… Not an arcade as in a shopping street, an arcade like back home–good, old-fashioned games. I guess they aren’t old-fashioned… ANYWAY! They have purikura, UFO Catcher, Taiko no Tatsujin, video games, and all the other good stuff.

The NASA International Space Apps Challenge was the worlds biggest hackathon with more then 9000 participants around the world, the city of Gothenburg was the city that chosen to represent the Swedish ideas and solutions.

The event took place in Lindholmen Science park on the 20-21 of april 2013.
