Space Shuttle Atlantis is shown in early morning sunlight as it sits on the runway at Edwards Air Force Base in California. On June 1, Atlantis took off piggyback aboard a modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft on the way to Biggs Army Air Field in El Paso, Texas.
