Forever Grateful!

As I read Dr. John Jay Harper's new article for UFO Digest entitled The Art of WWIII: The Unifying Archetypes of Apocalypse, I felt a sense of deja vu all over again. I looked into his synchronistic, Jungian, collective unconscious eyes and saw myself thirty years younger looking back wild eyed yet startlingly perplexed like a deer caught in the headlights. Read more…

The Jeff Woolwine Controversy, and my take on it!

The Jeff Woolwine ControversyDo you think Woolwine's Videos are faked?I think all his videos are faked.
I think just some of his videos are faked.
I think all his videos are legitimate.
I am not sure.
I don't know who Jeff Woolwine is.
View ResultJeff Woolwine is a well-known Phoenix, Arizona skywatcher who has video taped some of the most amazing footage to date of UFOs over south Phoenix, near South Mountain. He has also become the target of criticism by two other very well known Phoenix skywatchers who claims are that Woolwine is nothing more then a "want-to-be". They are asserting that Jeff and his son have released and video taped balloons in order to gain attention and notoriety.

The attacks launched against Jeff have been very unprofessional and, to say the least, offensive. They have even reached a point of childish name-calling, which has become blatantly shameful. If someone has substantiation of such claims, then it is strongly suggested that they come forth with that proof and settle these circumstances in a professional and diplomatic manner, instead of the adolescent way it has been handled.

I personally stand in the middle as to whether or not all Jeff's videos are legitimate, but this is not a negative response about Jeff or if his videos are authentic or not. I hold this position to any and all UFO claims, but this does not mean I am not a believer, but just someone that looks at all sides. After all, one has a better view when looking from the middle out, where one can see both sides of a subject equally and objectively. I try to keep a positive and open-mind to all substantiations, but one has to be on guard to the probability that could show any story, video, or picture as being bogus. This is just the nature-of-the-beast of ufology, which is the same for all forms of alternative sciences, that will have their fraudulent claims, and to say it like it is, nuts! The most beneficial type of researchers are the ones who stand in the middle of belief and disbelief and evenly weigh their thoughts between the two so that an unbiased truth can emerge. I think there are far to many so-called researchers that are credulous or too anxious to believe anything that comes their way. This does nothing to further the advancement of ufology and provides little creditable research to this science. One has to stand in the middle, but with an open-mind, and to be able to see beyond both extremes, peering outside the box, but still remaining down to earth with a conservative attitude.

There is already far too much disinformation that is being fed to us, for many reasons, in order to discredit this science. Some of it is from insecure individuals that seek some kind of notoriety to fulfill what they are lacking emotionally in their lives. Some is for monetary gain from people who are looking for a quick buck and think they can easily fool a bunch of individuals, like ourselves, which they already perceive as lacking creditability. There are also those who may be deliberately placing bogus claims that feel the need to discredit us, thinking we are nothing more then a group of nuts that need to be taught a lesson. And then there may be realms within the government/military complex that want to mislead and discredit us so we don't get to close to the real truth.

Ufology cannot tolerate any fraudulent submissions of pictures, stories, and/or videos that could discredit and damage this fragile science that so many already look to harm. If someone's work shows to be 99.9 percent valid, but they have been proven to have fabricated just one of their claims, then that person needs to be brought to the forefront by his peers before the debunkers are able to out the story and try once again to tarnish all our reputations. That said, I think when outing someone as being a fraud, then it should be handled in a professional and diplomatic manner without the childish name-calling. Any public accusation needs to be refrained from until evidence can be presented and proven beyond a doubt. Without such proof and being able substantiate his/her claims, then this only leaves the accusers open to being sued for slander. There are far to many people who have had their reputations destroyed by over zealous individuals. They, the accusers, will recklessly destroy other individual's lives without first taking the time out to think about the allegations and how they are presenting them. They would be better off by taking a step backwards, applying a little common sense, and a reasonable amount of thought to what they are about to say before proceeding with such weak and slanderous claims.

It is sad that someone would risk so much by turning in false information, regarding UFO evidence, that it would not only discredit themselves, but also would discredit the whole ufology community. We need to show that we are capable of handling our own science without the debunkers trying to discredit us even more with their twisted misinformation, which only fogs the minds of the public that much more to the real truth. No matter what evidence we bring forth the debunkers will always assert that ufology is nothing more then sudo-science filled with a lot of credulous nuts, so it is up to us to stay one step ahead of them by not allowing anyone within our own community to seek publicity or monetary gains from fraudulent claims.

I will continue to support Jeff Woolwine and feature him and his work on my website (www.alienseekernews.com) until someone presents verification to show that Jeff has deliberately falsified video footage. Until then I have no reason to believe that Jeff's work has been fraudulent. The criticism that has been launched by the two other Phoenix skywatchers may or may not have some merit, but the way it has been handled does nothing to discredit Jeff Woolwine, but only dishonors the attackers for the immature way they have dealt with these claims. They have not only done harm to themselves for the way they have handled this situation, but have shamed the whole ufology community and it's credibility by showing the debunkers that we can't even trust each other. These are two who have contributed a lot to ufology as Phoenix skywatchers, but are now in danger of damaging their own reputations. They need to stop and think before these irresponsible attacks on Jeff Woolwine continue. I hope they will do just that since their work is very much needed by all of us. People will only tolerate so much of this immature behavior before they turn away, and not only will people turn away from them, but also from the whole science of ufology and the trust that we have taken so long to establish. I am already aware of two online radio show hosts that will no longer have them on their shows as guests, due to the way they have conducted themselves in this situation. If these skywatchers have evidence, then they need to stop the name-calling and validate it. If they have no hard concrete evidence, then they need to keep their comments to themselves until they are able to substantiate their claims of fraudulent video/s. They need to do this before their future as respected skywatchers comes to an abrupt halt. A little advice would be "Its not safe to play with guns, you are not only shooting yourselves in the foot, but you are crippling us all."
