A new window on the universe

Using new tools to look at the universe, says Patrick Brady, often has led to discoveries that change the course of science. History is full of examples. Galileo was the first person to use the telescope to view the cosmos, says Brady, a UWM professor of physics. His observations with the new technology led to the discovery of moons orbiting Jupiter and lent support to the heliocentric model of the solar system........ Read more…

Celerant Designs and Delivers Innovative Thinking Course to NASA

Celerant Government Services recently designed and delivered its first training course on "Innovative Design for Engineering Applications" in support of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Academy of Program, Project and Engineering Leadership (APPEL).

"NASA engineers and designers were coached by Celerant to think 'outside the box' when approaching design during a three day training course," said John Dunnaback, President of Celerant Government Services. "Celerant is fully committed to supporting NASA as they apply innovative thinking and design to 21st Century space programs."

NASA APPEL tasked Celerant to design and instruct a course that provides engineers with an understanding of the tools and processes that can be used to increase innovative thinking and support the translation of those ideas into effective, yet flexible design solutions. As NASA enters a new era of space flight and exploration, their engineers must develop innovative designs that leverage the latest in advanced technology.

"Meeting these challenging design requirements calls for a novel training approach that enables engineers to go from the fuzzy front divergent-end of innovation to the application of tools and methods for converging on final design solutions," said John Sturrock, Celerant Vice President and Course Instructor. "Celerant is thrilled to have been selected for this essential program and looks forward to a collaborative future with NASA."

Work for this task was performed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center and was received through Celerant Government Services partner ASRC Management Services -- a Maryland-based company.
